Absa Cape Epic Prologue conquered

So after months of training walking onto the start chute at the Absa Cape Epic felt a bit unreal and I could not quite believe all the training was done and the day of reckoning was here.
Like the Bulls’ victory over the Sharks -Unbelievable!
Climbing 700 meters in 23km was not going to be easy and it was not as Greg got of to a flying start and I’m like-what the he… Easy pace. Soon the nerves settled and we got into a good rhythm and it was actually quite an enjoyable ride. Tomorrow might be different…108km of pain. But we’ll take it as it comes and just keep on going.
Thanks for all the support and well wishes for today. 1 day down, a few more to go.
